missions outreach group

The intent of this group is to impact people's lives that are in need right here in our community! We are always looking for new faces who have a desire to reach out and help impact our community. Contact the office for more information on a project or if you would like to join us!

UMC will be supporting the Food Bank at McKinely Outreach Center. It is a Faith Based organization housed in an old elementary school in Willoughby. They help families in the Willoughby Eastlake School district via Food Pantry, Furniture and Clothing Bank,

offer hot meals and education classes.

We support this Food Bank with monthly donations from our Church of

non-perishable items and taxable items. We collect items the 1st wk of the month. Please call the office 440-943-0382 for a list of suggested items.

Thanks for your support!!  Smiling Face With Heart-Eyes

Past Missions Projects:

End 68 Hours of Hunger

The Mission Team would like to thank everyone who donated food to the End 68 Hours Collection. End 68 Hours of Hunger collects food and donates it to students who may not be getting adequate meals on the weekend.  68 hours refers to the time between the last school lunch served on Friday and the first breakfast served on Monday morning. They are currently serving 203 students in our local Willoughby-Eastlake, Mentor and Painesville districts, including 20 students here at Royalview.

We collected:  152 cans of tuna, 132 cans/cups of fruit

assorted other boxes of cereal, soup, peanut butter and boxes of Macaroni and Cheese

Care Packages to Troops

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our collection for care packages.  We were able to send 11 boxes packed with Gatorade, granola bars, trail mix, sports magazines, and baby wipes to troops currently stationed in Afghanistan!

Mission Trip

Several of our youth will be partnering with youth from Hope Ridge United Methodist for a week long mission trip in Tennessee. The Jubilee Project focuses on combining  home repair and water projects to provide complete indoor plumbing and toilet facilities.

NOVEMBER We baked and decorated cookies together! Cookies were delivered to the Police and Firemen in Willowick and Eastlake to those serving Thanksgiving Day.

DECEMBER We sponsored our local Salvation Army chapter to provide Christmas gifts for 30 children through the Angel Tree Project
